We love checking out the smaller, not as well known breweries because they usually end up being great, and that was definitely the case today. Sitting just north of US-26 right near Main St in North Richland Hills is Keyworth Brewing Company, and it’s a must stop if you’re in the area.

Keyworth sits in a very unique building, kind of a small strip of shops, but there’s covered parking underneath the building. Underneath also boasts a nice picnic area with astroturf, and above is a very modern brick building. If you come in the front, you walk through a nice little outdoor seating area and walk right into the brewing space. The entire work area where they make their craft brews is out in the open, fenced off of course, but you walk right by it towards the taproom. We absolutely loved this setup, seeing everything out in the open where they brew was awesome! You make your way through a decently large seating area towards the back where the bar sits. The bathrooms are on the left and there’s stairs to go down there as well. Plenty of TV’s adorn the walls along with some custom artwork that’s for sale as well. They have food options, but they also had a food truck downstairs, which is what we chose. There’s a small to-go fridge left of the bar, and a large digital menu behind. The bar has a ton of keys epoxied into it playing off of their name, which was unique.

We all loved The Tribe Has Spoken, a 5.4% ABV Porter with Toasted Coconut. Porter’s are known for their roasted malt flavors, usually chocolate or coffee, but they’re lighter and sweeter than a stout. This is a perfect interpretation of that, and they added in the toasted coconut flavor. It was a fantastic beer, exactly what you should expect from this brew.

I haven’t done many Irish reds, but I typically enjoy them, and that was the case with the 5.1% ABV 1938. Irish red’s are known for their caramel notes and roasted finish, with low bitterness. Typically they have a dry finish as well, but there was very little dryness to me which helped make it more flavorful and enjoyable. The 1938 was one of my favorite Irish Red’s I’ve ever tried.

The favorite of the day was the That’s Just Nuts, a 6.6% ABV amber ale with pecans. Amber ales are also known for their caramel notes as well, but with more toasted and toffee flavors. They very subtly added in the pecan flavors, and it does not overwhelm the flavor of the amber. They even serve it with a chopped pecan and brown sugar rim for some extra flavor. Absolutely an excellent brew. Also, we took some home and the can art on these is amazing!

We absolutely loved our visit to Keyworth Brewing. The environment is fantastic, we love being next to the brewing equipment where they make these fantastic brews. The beer is phenomenal, there’s food options, it was just a great experience overall. I try to be very strict with perfect ratings, but Keyworth Brewing Company is getting our 3rd perfect 10 🍺 rating!! Any craft beer fan needs to check them out, and Always Drink Local!
